Al Shugart, Founder
    
   

Al Shugart is perhaps best known as a legendary maverick in the high-tech world of Silicon Valley, as well as founder and CEO of Seagate Technology. He now runs a venture capital company, Al Shugart International. 

Al has always been active in politics. From lawyer reform to voter reform, he's made his presence known. Whether it was running his dog for Congress, or running as a write in candidate himself, Al has always had something to say about our political system. In 2000 Al was responsible for the None of the Above Ballot Initiative.

Shugart is the author of three books: Ernest Goes To Washington (Well, Not Exactly), the true story of Ernest’s run for Congress; Fandango, The Story of Two Guys Who Wanted to Own a Restaurant, a firsthand account of Shugart’s life in the restaurant business; Al: The Wit & Wisdom of Al Shugart, which covers subjects ranging from the joys of curiosity to the tyranny of high-technology.

   

 

Chris Shugart, Executive Director

    
   

Chris Shugart has been in graphic design and production for over thirty years, working in the fields of advertising as well as publishing. His background made him ideally suited as campaign producer and coordinator for Al's political activities. 

Chris has also been a political commentator on his own weekly radio show, Uncommon Sense. In addition to his political essays, Chris is also a freelance writer, involved in a number of other literary projects.
